Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective responses of police officers in response to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell won an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. Her work in Charleston has led to her serving as co-anchor and investigative reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor. Alongside her job as the lead anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She has covered such events including The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of shows that were pre-showarrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
